Alexander, Jr., 34, of Clanton, Alabama, died at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, on 22 October 2005 of injuries sustained in Samarra, Iraq, on 17 October 2005, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle. SSG Alexander was a Combat Infantryman assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

 

CPT Joel E. Cahill  Age 34

CPT Joel E. Cahill, 34, of Norwood, Massachusetts, died in Ad Dawr, Iraq, on 6 November 2005, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV. CPT Cahill was a Combat Infantryman who commanded Company B, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

SPC Justin B. Carter, 21, of Mansfield, Missouri, died 16 February 2005 near FOB McKenzie.  SPC Carter was Combat Engineer in Company E, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

Carver, 19, of Haskell, OK, died of wounds on 30 October 2007 in Salman Pak, Iraq, during a combat patrol when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle was struck by small arms fire and an improvised explosive device. PFC Carver was a combat infantryman assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

 

SFC Alwyn C. Cashe  Age 35

SFC Alwyn C. Cashe, 35, of Oveido, Florida, died at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, on 8 November 2005, of injuries sustained in Samarra, Iraq, on 17 October 2005, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle. SFC Cashe was a Combat Infantryman assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in December 2021 for his extraordinary heroism and selflessness above and beyond the call of duty.

1LT Michael Cleary, 24, of Dallas, Pennsylvania was killed by an improvised explosive device detonated on 20 December 2005 near Samarra. 1LT Cleary was a Combat Engineer and platoon leader assigned to Company E, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

SGT Allen J. Dunckley, 25, of Yardley, Pennsylvania was killed 14 May 2007 during combat operations in Iraq when his team was hit by an improvised explosive device and enemy small arms fire. SGT Dunckley was a Combat Infantryman assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

1LT Michael Fasnacht, 25, of Janesville, Minnesota was killed by an improvised explosive device detonated on 8 June 2005 near Tikrit. 1LT Fasnacht was a Combat Infantryman and rifle platoon leader in Company B, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

 

SPC Dennis J. Ferderer  Age 20

SPC Dennis J. Ferderer Jr., 20, of New Salem, North Dakota, died in Ad Duluiyah, Iraq, on 2 November 2005, when enemy forces threw a hand grenade at his HMMWV during convoy operations. SPC Ferderer was a Combat Infantryman assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

SFC John W. Marshall, 50, of Los Angeles, California, died on 8 April 2003 when he was struck by an RPG during an enemy ambush in Baghdad enroute to OBJ Curley. SFC Marshall was the Scout Platoon Sergeant in HHC, 3rd Battalion at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Robertson, 28, of Houston, Texas, died at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, on 25 October 2005, of injuries sustained in Samarra, Iraq, on 17 October 2005, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The incident fatally injured another soldier and was reported on 25 October 2005. SGT Robertson was a Combat Medic assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA.

 

SGT Monta S. Ruth  Age 26

PFC Joey T. Sams II, 26, of Spartanburg, SC died 21 March 2007 at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, of injuries suffered when he was pinned between two vehicles. PFC Sams was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion at Fort Benning, GA. He was a member of the Association since 2006.

SSG Robert A. Stever Age 36

SSG Robert A. Stever, 36, of Pendleton, OR was killed in action on 8 April 2003 in Baghdad enroute to OBJ Curley. SSG Stever was a Combat Mechanic for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and assigned to HHC, 3rd Battalion at Fort Stewart, GA.
